Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need driving experience to operate the buggy?

Yes — a valid driving licence is required for the driver. The buggies are automatic and beginner-friendly, so no prior off-road experience is needed.

Is it safe for passengers?

Yes, as long as safety instructions are followed. Passengers must remain buckled and meet the minimum height requirements.

What should I bring with me?

Comfortable clothing, closed shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen and water. Avoid bringing loose items that may fall out during the ride.

Are buggies difficult to control?

No — they are designed for ease of use with automatic transmission and stable handling. The guide sets the pace for safety.

Will I get dirty?

Almost certainly, especially in summer (dust) and winter/spring (mud/water). Dress prepared.

What happens in bad weather?

Tours may be modified or rescheduled if conditions become unsafe. We’ll notify you as early as possible.

How many people can fit in each buggy?

Typically two (driver + passenger). Larger groups are arranged using multiple buggies.

Zebra Safari Tours

from €999.00 per person

Zebra Safari Tours offers full-day and half-day 4×4 jeep safari tours that take guests deep into the “real” Algarve — away from the beaches and resorts — to experience traditional villages, cork-oak and carob forests, hills, inland rivers, rural farms, and unspoiled landscapes. Whether you choose the shorter half-day route or a full-day expedition, each trip is guided by experienced local drivers, combining adventure, nature, culture and a chance to discover hidden gems that most holidaymakers never see. It’s an ideal choice for travellers staying in Albufeira, Vilamoura, Quarteira or nearby towns who want a break from the coast and a chance to see the Algarve’s countryside and heritage up close.

Quad Ventura

from €999.00 per person

Quad Ventura runs small-group quad biking tours in the countryside just inland from Albufeira, starting near the village of Paderne. Tours follow a mix of quiet lanes, dirt tracks and rural trails through orange and lemon groves, woodland paths and low hills, with regular stops for photos and water. Groups are deliberately kept small, with a maximum of four quads on standard departures, which makes the experience more personal and avoids big convoys on the tracks. You can choose from shorter Adventure Tracks (around 1.5–2 hours, roughly 25–35 km of riding) or longer half-day tours such as the Algarve Explorer (around 3 hours and 50–60 km), with full-day itineraries also available that include extra stops and a local lunch. All tours are guided, include a full safety briefing before you set off, and use automatic quads that are suitable for confident first-timers as well as experienced riders. A full car driving licence is required for drivers; passengers can ride from age seven and up, subject to weight and safety limits. It’s an ideal choice if you’re staying in Albufeira, Vilamoura, Armação de Pêra or nearby and want a fun, dusty, off-road adventure that still feels very safe and well run.
